Claude Cloutier

Claude Cloutier Claude has been in the workforce since 1978. The first 12 years of his career was with the Canadian Air Force in a variety of roles including operational flying, teaching and requirements management. While at Canada’s National Defence Headquarters, he was appointed Deputy Project Director for the CP-140 Aurora Update project. He also was the operational authority for several avionics research and development projects. Since 1990, Claude has been in private industry as a professional services consultant. He has led and managed many research and development projects including: avionics, telecommunications, networking, wireless, imaging, IC and security for both government and industry. Over the years, Claude has demonstrated excellence in management and leadership in a variety of senior leadership roles. Currently, he is the President and Chairman of Corporation. One of Claude’s many passions is project management. Claude was certified as a Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute in 1994 and was re-certified in 2004 and 2007. He has facilitated project management courses internationally for a variety of industries and for government organizations for basic, advanced and PMP certification courses. He also facilitates his own course that specializes in Electronic Product Design project management. One of Claude’s other passions is leadership. Claude graduated in June 2007 from Royal Roads University with a Master of Arts Leadership and Training.

Bryan Morris Bryan has over 22 years experience in the telecommunications and consulting industry. He has been successfully managing people and projects for over 15 years. Prior to coming to XtremeEDA, Bryan worked on a diverse set of projects including commercial software, embedded systems development, air traffic control system design, and many years of ASIC and FPGA design and verification. These projects have given him industrial experience in C/C++, Vera, SystemVerilog, and many scripting languages. Bryan graduated from Queen's University in Kingston with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering in 1985. He has been a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario since 1987. Pauline Melenhorst
David Jones David Jones has been in the semiconductor industry for 12 years, starting in the DRAM design industry at MOSAID Technologies, then going onto co-found a verification consulting services firm prior to co-founding XtremeEDA. David has worked on multiple complex projects including ARC, PowerPC and x86 microprocessor systems, encryption, ATM and video processing. He has extensive experience with both C++ and SystemVerilog, with application to the verification of microprocessor systems. David has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Ottawa and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Paul Marriott Dr. Marriott is a renowned specialist in Verification technology. He has wealth of knowledge in the Verification methodology arena from his many years as a consultant with well known players in the industry. His widely recognized skills in methodology infusion come from extensive practical experience providing consulting and training services to a variety of players in the industry, including large tier 1 companies as well as smaller privately-held organizations. Paul obtained his doctorate degree in electronic engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), England, after graduating with a Master of Science in integrated circuit system design from the same university. He currently holds the position of Director, Verification Engineering, at XtremeEDA Corporation, a professional ASIC and FPGA design services company headquartered in Ottawa, Canada. Before joining XtremeEDA, Paul successfully worked as an expert independent design verification consultant. In addition, he has held senior verification positions with Qualis and Nortel Networks. Paul was also the Invited Visiting Professor of VLSI Design at the University of Aveiro, Portugal prior to emigrating to Canada.

Doug Letcher Doug offers more than 8 years of experience in ASIC design and verification and the past 7 as a consultant in these areas. Doug obtained his Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Prior to co-founding XtremeEDA in 2003, Doug gained consulting experience at Intrinsix Corp. Doug's experience in the consulting role allows him to ramp up quickly and identify the needs of a client. Doug has experience with a diverse set of clients including large (TI, AMD, Mentor, Synopsys) and small companies in Canada and the US. Doug's primary focus is ASIC verification where he has relevant experience with SystemVerilog, Specman 'e', C/C++, Matlab, Perl, VHDL. Doug has worked in application areas ranging from video processing to general purpose processors and from networking SOC devices to SDRAM modules. In addition, Doug can handle design work in Verilog and VHDL and has strong technical skills in more general areas such as Linux and scripting.
Colleen Patterson (Verification) Colleen has 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry. She has successfully managed people and projects for 19 years. Prior to joining XtremeEDA, Colleen worked on a diverse set of projects including air-ground-air radio systems, radar systems, fixed and mobile satellite networks, and over seven years of IC verification experience. Colleen has experience in C/C++, SystemVerilog, Specman ‘e’, VHDL, Verilog, TCL, Project Management, test planning and personnel management. Colleen completed her undergraduate work at the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering in 1987. She completed her masters program work at Carleton Universtiy with a Systems Engineering degree in 1999.
Amre Sultan graduated with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Carleton University in 1999. Amre has over six years of verification experience using SystemVerilog, Vera, verilog and e. Amre also has extensive experience in OOP (Object Oriented Programming) and advanced verification methodologies and has used VMM and its predecessor RVM on multiple projects using constraint driven verification with functional coverage. Amre has also participated in the development and instruction of AVM (Advanced Verification Methodology) training as well as XtremeEDA's SystemVerilog for Verification Professionals course offering. Amre is also an active contributor to industry conferences such as DVCON and SNUG and is currently a member on the SNUG San Jose technical committee. Amre has worked at numerous semiconductor companies in the Ottawa area including Extreme Packet Devices, PMC-Sierra, Broadcom, Sibercore Technologies, IceFyre Semiconductor and is currently a Principal Consultant for ASIC with XtremeEDA Corporation. Gareth Williams Gareth has worked in ASIC Functional Verification for eight years, six of which have been in a consulting role. He joined the Xtreme team in 2005, having worked for a diverse mix of product companies and consulting firms, as well as having worked as an independant consultant. This rich technical background has helped him develop a proficiency in a variety of domains, from telecom to SoC, in a variety of general purpose and specialized languages, such as SystemVerilog, Vera, Specman/e, and C/C++. Gareth holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University Of Waterloo.
Bruno Latulippe Bruno has over 19 years of experience in FPGA, ASIC, board and system design. He has worked in commercial, industrial and military products and has been involved in all aspects of ASIC design process, from architecture to production. He developed expertise in state of the art DFT techniques to optimize test cost, improve yield with high quality standard. Prior to coming to Xtreme-EDA, Bruno worked on more than 50 chips in the industry. During the last 3 years, he has successfully built and managed a world-class multi-site DFT team, which included engineers from India. He was also involved in outsourcing test capabilities to a third-party business. Bruno has held increasingly responsible positions including a product engineer, failures analysis and test engineer, ASIC designer and culminating in being a chip leader for 7 years. He has experience with standards protocol like IEEE 1149.6, RapidIO, PCI/PCI-X, VME, Ethernet, DDR-II, ATM, TDM and Processor bus. Bruno was a member of the parallel RapidIO Technical Working Group. Bruno graduated from the Université of Sherbrooke with a Master degree in Electrical Engineering, micro-electronic specialty in 1994 and a Bachelors degree in 1986 in Electrical Engineering.
Kelsey Muma Kelsey has over four years experience in the semiconductor and consulting industry. He specializes in ASIC functional verification, including verification planning, architecture, and implementation. Prior to coming to XtremeEDA, Kelsey worked on verification of complex SoC designs with integrated MIPS processors. He has developed numerous reusable verification components, with Specman 'e' being his main expertise. He has industrial experience in Specman 'e', SystemVerilog, Verilog, C/C++, MIPS Assembly, eRM, VMM, and many scripting languages. Kelsey graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2003 with a Bachelors degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Farzeen Nathoo Farzeen has over seven years experience in the ASIC Verification industry, and experience in the software industry. Prior to coming to XtremeEDA, Farzeen has been working seven years on ASIC and FPGA verification. These projects have given him industrial experience in Verilog, Vera, SystemVerilog and many scripting languages. Farzeen graduated from University of Ottawa with a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering in December 2000.
Hoang Nguyen Hoang Nguyen has over 10 years of Design For Test (DFT) practice in both design for test implementation and design for test methodologies. He has been working in telecommunications, graphic chips, video chips, satellite chips, and micro processor chips. Hoang also worked in the EDA industry as a Corporate Application Engineer in Test Automation. This experience built his expertise in consulting and methodologies. Hoang has a broad experience and knowledge in Simulation, static timing analysis, and physical design. Hoang graduated from University of Waterloo with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering in 1997.
Nino Parisotto Nino has 15 years experience in the design and verification of ASICs and FPGA-based systems for the telecommunications and custom computing industries. Prior to coming to XtremeEDA, Nino worked on a wide spectrum of ASIC and FPGA projects including many telecom devices, DSP accelerator system design, reconfigurable and custom computing machines, as well as high-volume commercial product development. His main areas of expertise are RTL design and verification, synthesis, Design-for-Test (DFT), and Static Timing Analysis (STA). These projects have given him industrial experience in VHDL, Verilog, Specman e, Design Compiler, Physical Compiler, Primetime, DFTAdvisor, Fastscan, RTLCompiler, EncounterTest, and many scripting languages. Nino graduated from Ecole Polytechmique de Montreal with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1993. He has been a member of the Ordre des Ingenieurs du Quebec since 1993.
Rob Saxe Rob has over 12 years experience in the high tech industry. He started as an operating systems analyst at Nortel Networks and moved into network management before taking on the role of ASIC Verification Engineer in 2000. After leaving Nortel in 2002, Rob ventured overseas to work as a Verification Engineer for NoBug Consulting in Bucharest, Romania, and then managed an IT training centre in Dakar, Senegal. Upon returning to Canada in 2004, Rob joined XtremeEDA in June 2004. Rob has worked on a wide range of projects for both ASICs and FPGAs including SONET/SDH, OTN, PCI, PCI-Express, DDR-SDRAM, NAND Flash memory, Memory Controllers, Packet Search Co-Processors, and SPI-4.2 devices. His knowledge of languages and methodologies include Specman 'e', Vera/RVM, SystemVerilog (VMM/AVM) and perl. Rob graduated from Queen's University in Kingston in 1995 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and has been a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario since 1997.
Aimee Sutton Aimee has been working in the verification industry since graduating from the University of Waterloo in 2000. She started her career working in the telecom sector as a verification engineer using the Specman tool and the e language. From 2004-2005 she worked as an independent consultant, tackling verification projects using e and SystemC. In 2005 she joined Xtreme EDA, and has since played a significant role on verification projects using VHDL, e, and SystemVerilog. While at Xtreme EDA Aimee has also contributed to training development and delivery. Aimee holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. |
